With the horrible news coming out of Texas regarding this terrible winter weather, certain SBA disaster relief programs are available to struggling Texans across the Lone Star State.
Over 100 counties in Texas are under Federal Disaster Declaration, which means that residents and local businesses can apply for disaster relief funds or EIDL loans.
Walter Lambert, CARES Business Consultant, explained: “Much like the EIDL loans, but it’s a different set of money, it’s a different set of programs and you apply for that through sba.gov.”
Check with the official SBA website to see if you qualify for these life saving disaster relief funds to keep you, your family, and your small business afloat during these crazy times.
Meanwhile, President Biden made some very interesting comments yesterday regarding small businesses accessing vital PPP disaster relief funds.
Biden explained: “Getting our economy back means bringing our small businesses back. [These changes] will bring much-needed, long overdue help to small businesses who really need help staying open, maintaining jobs and making ends meet.”
Starting tomorrow, only small businesses with 20 employees or less will be able to apply for these forgivable loans until March 10th, making this 2 week window exclusive to the smallest businesses trying to get a PPP loan.
This is amazing news for the little guys out there, as it seems like so many huge companies were able to get PPP loans while us small business owners were shut out.
Finally, the great state of California is offering free small business grants to eligible companies in the restaurant, brewery and winery industries.
San Mateo County will be providing nearly 200 small businesses with free small business grants for up to $10,000, to help out those most in need of fiscal support.
Don Cecil from the San Mateo County Economic Development Association, explained: “We’re not asking for tax documents upfront. We’re not asking people to upload complicated or sensitive information. Our goal is to get checks into hands ideally, by next month.”
