There are many different ways to earn money on YouTube. Here are the pros and cons of the different ways to monetize your YouTube content.

1. YouTube Partner Program / AdSense. If you have over 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours of watch time, you can apply to be part of the YouTube Partner Program, once accepted you can turn on YouTube monetization, and YouTube will put ads on your videos and share the revenue they earn from those ads.

2. Super Chats. If you do live streams, the viewer can send you Super Chats, basically donations to your channel, this could be because they love your content or they want to make sure you answer a question they have during a live stream.

3. Memberships. You can create additional content or provide perks for viewers to sign up for a membership program. This program can be run through YouTube, platforms such as Patreon or on your website.

4. Affiliate marketing. You can earn a commission by recommending products and services. You need to sign up for the company’s affiliate program and then promote their products and services on your channel. If someone clicks on your link and then makes a purchase you will earn a commission.

5. Merchandise. You can use companies such as TeeSpring to create your own line of merchandise such as T-shirts, hoodies, mugs, etc. You only need to create the design and TeeSpring takes care of the rest. You can also display your merchandise on the YouTube merchandise shelf below your videos if you are part of the YouTube Partner Program and have over 10,000 subscribers.

6. Sponsored videos. You Can work with sponsors to do review videos, tutorial videos, mention a product in a video, or whatever other agreement you come up with working with the video sponsor.

7. Sell products (digital and physical) on autopilot. You can create an automated sales funnel to promote a lead magnet to get email sign-ups or directly promote your product and each day get sales as some percent of your YouTube viewers purchase your product/

8. Sell services. Instead of selling a product online, you can have people sign up for something you give away for free to get their email address and/or phone number, from there you can follow up with them to set up a call or meeting.
